Sharon Wichman, age 71, passed away at Brewster Village, Appleton, on Saturday, February 15, 2014. Sharon was born on May 20, 1942, in Appleton, to the late William H. and Lucille (Gruber) Hanson. She married Thomas Wichman on July 22, 1961, in Appleton; he preceded her in death on November 29, 2000 . Sharon was focused on her family her entire life. Sharon enjoyed crocheting and decorating her home for all holidays, but is perhaps best known for her ability to have knowledge of the best deals and best values while shopping. She began her banking career as a teller, but was promoted to Manager at Twin City Savings and Loan, Fox Cities Bank and Anchor Bank.

Survivors include her sister, Terri (Jeff) Miller, Appleton; her brothers, Randy (Char) Hanson, DeForest , and Dave (Jill) Hanson, Symco; her dear friends, Janice and Ray Sommers, Appleton; her sisters-in-law, Donna (Don) Woelz, Appleton, and Susan (Andy) Smith, Appleton; her nieces and nephews, Debbie (Rick) Melichar, Greenville; Rick Hanson, Greenville; Jason (Stacey) Hanson, DeForest; Jennifer (Dr. John) Thurlow, El Paso, Texas; Chad Miller, Madison; Katie (Joel) Thomas, Grand Forks, North Dakota; Bobbi (John) Hicken, Fond du Lac; Scott (Jill) Hanson, Black Creek; her grand nieces and nephews, Jackie Hanson, Thomas Hanson, Aiden Thurlow, Lexi, Madison and Jaylene Hanson, and Bryce and Allison Hicken; and her aunt, Arlene (Ted) Pack. She is further survived by many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her brother William (Jeanette) Hanson; her niece' s husband, David Zeegers; her grand nephew, Eric Zeegers; and her special family friend Mendy Zussman.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at ST. JOHN EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, Highway 47 North, Appleton, with Rev. Jeffrey Suhr and Rev. Micah Martin officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton, on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. A memorial has been established in her name. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Brewster Village for their loving care.
