Ronald Ragen

Red passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton at the age of 80. He was born in Kaukauna on May 3, 1927, son of the late Ansel and Irene (DeHut) Ragen. During the final of months of World War II, he served his country in the United States Navy. On September 12, 1959, he married the former Marian Van Hoof in Kaukauna; she survives. Ron worked in the area for many years as a stonemason; many will remember his meticulous attention to the details of masonry. He enjoyed working with wood, golfing, fishing, and hunting.

Survivors include his wife: Marian Ragen; a brother: Dennis Ragen; two sisters-in-law: Lillian (Tony) Van Wychen and Ann DeCoster; and three brothers-in-law: Joe (Cathy) Van Hoof, Donald Van Hoof, and Norbert (Liz) Van Hoof. Red was preceded in death by a son, Patrick in 1986, an older brother Gerald, a brother-in-law Larry DeCoster.

The funeral liturgy will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, June29, 2007 at ST. ALOYSIUS PARISH, Main Avenue at Ann Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
