Age 86, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2001 at Franciscan Care Center following a short illness. He was born on February 18, 1915 in Forest Junction, WI the son of the late Walter and Clara ( Raab) Krueger. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1933. On September 4, 1935 he married Margaret Sparks in Plainfield, WI. He was a cheesemaker until 1941, and then became employed by Wisconsin – Michigan Power Company until he retired in 1977. After he retired, he drove a school bus for four years. Roger joined the Waverly Lodge # 51 F.A.&M. on May 10, 1949. He was a 50 year Mason, and belonged to the Beja, and Appleton Shrine Club, as well as the Northeast Wisconsin Scottish Rite Bodies of Green Bay. He was a volunteer driver for the Shriners Hospital in Chicago, transporting patients for treatment.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, his children Robert (Brigitte) Krueger of London, England, Richard (Corrine) Krueger of Appleton, Wayne “Butch” (Wilma) Krueger of Appleton, Donna (Richard) Merkel of Grafton; his grandchildren Frederick Krueger of California, Richard (Joy) Krueger of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Christina Krueger of Brooklyn, New York; Shane Krueger, and Beth Malott both of Appleton, Amy (Joe) Anaya of Manawa; Michael Krueger and his special friend Connie of Milwaukee; Patty (Mark) Brunnquell of Fredonia, WI., Pamela Merkel of Milwaukee, Alicia Merkel and her fiancé Ryan McNally both of Fredonia; his great grandchildren Ted, Cheryl, and Niccole Krueger; Michael Malott, Ricky and Joey Anaya, Jacob, Zachary, Micaela, and Joshua Brunnquell. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Vivian Schreiber of Kiel, WI; Rev. Wilmer (Lee) Bloy of Madison; Audrey (Jerry) Elsner of Green Bay, and his sister-in-law Arlene Krueger. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Melvin Krueger.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 740 East College Avenue with the Rev. David Kallas and Rev. Lynn Kollath officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Monday TODAY from 4- 8 PM, and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Masonic services will be conducted at 7:30 PM on Monday. A memorial fund is being established. The family wishes to thank the staff of Franciscan Care Center for all of their kindness.
