Norman Carlson

Norman Carlson, 83, of Kimberly passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Appleton Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Norman, the son of Louis and Amelia (Eichinger) Carlson was born on December 7, 1927 in Oshkosh. He was a veteran having served in the US Army. Norman married Shirley Coenen Biese on September 9, 1977 at Holy Spirit. He worked at the Appleton Post Office until his retirement on January 1, 1988. He was physically active and enjoyed horseshoes, golf and bowling. Norman was a member of Holy Spirit and the Little Chute American Legion Post # 258.

Norman is survived by his wife, Shirley Biese Carlson, ten children: Dennis (Sue) Biese, Deborah (Butch) Sutton, Nancy Biese, Cheryl Wydeven, Mary (Dan) Fritz, Kay (Donn) Golden, David (Ann) Biese, Lori (Barney) Lopas, Joyce Biese, Patricia Canter, 21 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, his sister Jeannine Leatherby, a family friend George Ovigian, other relatives and friends.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, and two children; Janet Biese and Mark Biese.

The funeral liturgy will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH (600 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly) at 11:00 AM with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Name Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church.
