Age 90, passed away on Thursday February 8, 2007 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. Myrtle was born on December 14, 1916 in Nome, North Dakota daughter of the late Oscar and Minnie (Miller) Aus.
As a young woman, Myrtle operated a beauty shop in Rutland, ND. She was married to Roman Kulzer in 1936 in Cromwell, MN where they farmed. Later they farmed in the Rutland area, eventually owning Rutland Hardware and Propane. Together they had six children. She was active in Band Mothers, PTA, and the Ladies Club. In 1956 she moved to Appleton, WI. and worked for Kimberly Clark Neenah Paper Co., retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Mary’s parish, Appleton.

Myrtle is survived by 5 children: Norbert (Beverly) Kulzer of Rutland, North Dakota; David (Patricia) Kulzer of Havre, Montana; Diane (Richard) Davis of Watseka, Illinois; Catherine (Frank) Krieglstein of Appleton; Karen (Merrill) Buisker of Mellette, South Dakota; a daughter in law, Sharon Kulzer of Forman, North Dakota; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a sister Ila Saidla of Chicago; a step sister, Marjorie Westphal of California; and a sister in law, Wanda Aus of Billings, Montana. Myrtle was preceded in death by her son Kurt Kulzer, a grandson Gregory Kulzer; brothers, Orville (Avis) Aus, and Noble Aus; a sister Marianne Montgomery a brother in law Bud Saidla, step siblings Alvin Jensen, Juliet Craig, and Irvin Jensen.
The Funeral Mass for Myrtle will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday February 13, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church 312 South State St., Appleton. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home and also at the church on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of services. There will be a 7:30 prayer service at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Readfield

Myrtle devoted her life to her family and was greatly loved and appreciated by them all. She always had a spirit of adventure and loved to travel. Her quiet sense of humor and unceasing love touched the lives of all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Paul’s facilities, Kaukauna for all their support and loving care of Myrtle.
