Mildred Haxton, age 92, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015. She was born on November 2, 1922, to the late Edward and Hattie Keller and resided in Kimberly. She graduated from Appleton West High School in 1940 and worked as a medical secretary for many years. Mildred married Gordon Hermsen on August 10, 1946, at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. She later married James Haxton on April 28, 1990. Mildred enjoyed cooking and baking, especially lemon meringue pie. She liked to spend her time with crafts and embroidering. Mildred also enjoyed spring flowers and playing cards, especially Sheepshead.
Mildred is survived by her son, Richard Hermsen; grandchildren, Bethany Bartelt of Merrill WI and Rebbeca Wiess of San Diego CA; brother, Charles E. Keller; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon Hermsen; husband, James Haxton; sisters: Pearl Landman, Lois Pennock, and Barbara Dayton; and infant sister, Ruth Keller.
Funeral liturgy for Mildred will be held at NOON on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at HOLY SPIRIT/HOLY NAME CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
