Mary Wankey Castonia

Age 71 of Menasha, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 of complications from a stroke and heart attack. She was born in Appleton, the daughter of the late Florence (Managan) and Norman Wankey. She graduated from Appleton West High School, and was employed at the H.C. Prange Company for a number of years and later at Gegan Elementary School in Menasha. She also volunteered at the Community Clothes Closet. She is survived by her husband, Donald; children, Randy (Carol) Wolfgram and Ryan (Sarah) Castonia; four grandchildren: Madison and Ross Wolfgram, and Anna and Aidan Castonia; two sisters, Noreen (Mark) French and Barbara Wadel; and a brother, Richard (Sharon) Wankey. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Larry Wadel.

Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, June 9, 2014, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street in Appleton, with Deacon Maury Reed officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.

Her family and nature were the loves of her life. For as much as she loved flowers, her request was that they be left in nature to be admired and not brought to the funeral.

The family would like to thank the paramedics of Gold Cross Ambulance, and the Emergency Room and ICU staffs at Theda Clark Medical Center for their service, as well as Theda Care At Home Hospice.
