Mary Jahnke

June 2, 1921 — July 5, 2010

Mary Jahnke, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 5, 2010. Mary was born on June 2, 1921 to Albert and Helena Spearman in Galena, Ohio. She was very loved and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. She married Frederick Jahnke on September 1, 1945. She was a good and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved cooking and music. She also loved the outdoors and spending time in the north woods. Mary would avidly study her Bible. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mary is survived by four children; Linda (Ron) Giese, Greenleaf, William (Mary) Jahnke, Hortonville, Joyce (Michael) Vande Vyver, Black Creek, Carol (Donald) Coenen, Darboy, 6 grandchildren; Scott Giese, David Vande Vyver, Christina (Joe) Schlintz, Timothy (Mican) Coenen, Robby Coenen, Joseph (Koren) Coenen, 3 great-grandchildren; Andrew, Courtney and Alexander Coenen, 3 brothers; Dwight Spearman, Floyd Spearman and Jim (Nancy) Spearman. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Gene Jahnke, and 3 brothers, Ralph, Herbert and Lawrence Spearman.
A funeral service for Mary will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM at SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH (N1615 Meadowview Dr. Greenville) with Pastor Paul Shackel officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at the Wichmann Funeral Home and on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of services at the Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Mary's caregivers at Crestwood Senior living centers Sheelin House, the Theda Care at home Hospice nurses, and the nurses at Appleton Medical Center.
