Marilyn Otto

July 9, 1930 — July 1, 2012

Marilyn Otto, age 81, of Appleton, passed away into the arms of her Savior, Jesus, on July 1, 2012. She was joyfully greeted in Heaven by her mother, father and brother, and extended family. Marilyn was born on July 9, 1930, in Appleton, to the late Edwin and Edith (Parker) Otto. She enjoyed a carefree childhood, loved to laugh, sing and mealtime. Marilyn loved dogs and enjoyed going to the movies at the downtown theaters and taking rides up north with her family. As a teenager she suffered from Schizophrenia and therefore made her second home at Outagamie County Health Center (Brewster Village) for the last 50 years, where she was cared for with great respect, dignity and comfort. Survivors include her loving brother and guardian, Gary (Millie) Otto, Combined Locks. She is further survived by eleven nieces and nephews, and many grand and great grand nieces, nephews and cousins. Marilyn was preceded in death by her dear parents; her dear brother Richard (Delores) Otto; her grandparents and extended relatives. A private family celebration will be held. She will be entombed at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Marilyn's family feels deep gratitude to all her “second family” at Brewster Village; the awesome nurses, staff, caregivers and volunteers who showed Marilyn compassion and support these many years. Your kindness will always be remembered and appreciated. A memorial has been established in her name to benefit Brewster Village. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com
