McCLUSKEY, MARIAN

Marian McCluskey, age 90, of Sherwood, died on Monday, January 31, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. Marian was born on September 23, 1914, to the late Elijah Marion and Clyte Crystal (Claridge) Cleaver. She married David Charles McCluskey on January 1, 1937, in Mount Vernon, Ohio; he preceded her in death on May 11, 1986. Marian was the former Village Clerk for Gambier, Ohio, and later served as the School Board Clerk there. She was an avid reader, enjoying a book a day; she also loved her cat, Zolie. Survivors include her son, Jon (Bonnie) McCluskey, Sherwood; her daughter, Judith (Cy) Wainscott, Gambier, Ohio; her grandchildren, Charles McCluskey, Menasha, and Paige (Erik) Richards, Milwaukee; her great grandchildren, Sadie and Stella; her sister, Elizabeth Loughman, Sarasota, Florida; her sister-in-law, Ruth Cleaver, Sarasota, Florida; and her nieces, Suzanne Jukes, Sarasota, Florida, and Janice Ray, Warrensburg, Missouri. Abiding by Marian’s wishes, there will be no memorial services. A memorial has been established to benefit the Salvation Army winter heating program. Marian will be sadly missed by family and her many friends.
