Age 95, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born on December 1, 1910 in Isaar, Wisconsin to the late Joseph and Catherine (Eisch) Landwehr. On May 29, 1929 she married August A. Hackl, he preceded her in death in February of 1964. Margaret was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Combined Locks. Margaret enjoyed traveling, crocheting, playing cards, entertaining, her little dogs, and above all, she enjoyed helping others. She prided herself on having made over 60, 000 rosaries for the missions.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Carol (Don) Stoegbauer, Appleton; Mary (Jerry) Johns, Monticello, IN; grandchildren: Larry (Liz) Stoegbauer, Bryan (Brenda) Hietpas, Jodi (Rick) Tyrie; step-grandchildren: Lori (Jeanu) Tutuianu, Tracy Johns, Michelle (Scott) Rohanbough; great grandchildren: Maggie and Michael Stoegbauer; Chelsea Hietpas; Kourtney, Kole, and Karli Tyrie; George and Peter Tutuianu; Ashley Johns; brother: John (Marilyn) Landwehr; sisters: Beatrice (Eugene) Stark, Alice Fermanich, Myrtle (Gene) Prisco; sister-in-law: Lorraine Van Lanam. In addition to her parents and her husband, August, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Donald Stoegbauer; siblings: Josephine (Bill) Palmer, Joseph Landwehr, Lorraine (John) Rhode, Tom (Mildred) Landwehr, Lucille (Victor) Lotter, Susie (Louis) Williams; brother-in-law: Don Fermanich.

Funeral mass for Margaret will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church (410 E. Wallace Street, Combined Locks) with Father Robert Vandenberg co-officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9 A.M. until the time of mass. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Appleton. Memorials can be made in Margaret’s name to C.O.T.S. and Pioneer Village.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Margaret’s nieces: Elaine Rhode and Judy Peters, and also the Palliative Care Unit at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
