Margaret Cloos Weber

December 7, 1905 — December 23, 2011

Margaret Weber, age 106, passed away at Peabody Manor on Friday morning, December 23, 2011. Margaret was born December 7, 1905, in Warner, South Dakota, daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Marcks) Cloos. She grew up in South Dakota and Whitehall, Montana. Leaving the west, the beautiful mountains, and the warm and friendly people was difficult for Margaret. The family moved to Appleton, Wisconsin when she was sixteen. Margaret graduated from Appleton High School in 1924 with outstanding business skills. One of her teachers directed her to a job as a secretary at the P.M. Conkey Insurance Agency where she worked for many years. Mr. Conkey was a fine boss and Margaret praised him highly.

In Appleton, she met and married George Weber, the great love of her life. Together, they were a fine example to their family of solid values, hard work, loving responsibility to others, and a wonderful sense of fun. George preceded Margaret in death in 1976.

Margaret is survived by two daughters: Mary (John) Hussey of Green Bay and their children: Brian Hussey, Mike (Patti) Hussey, Barry (Gina) Hussey, and Kevin (Michelle) Hussey; and Rita (John) Bradish of Appleton and their children: Lisa (Tim) Downey, Kathy (Jeff) VanStraten, Dave (Lori) Bradish, and Mary (Tom) Morris. There are also seventeen great-grandchildren: Emily and Erin Downey; Abbie, Michael, and Jenny Van Straten; Nick and Natalie Bradish; Matt, Luke, Mattie, and Jack Morris; Megan Hussey; Hannah Hussey; and Bill, Bob, Jack, and Kate Hussey. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters: Cordell Pruett, Vera Cloos, LaVila Onufrock, and Helen Cloos.

The funeral liturgy for Margaret will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 N. McDonald Street in Appleton with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Margaret and her family offer their sincere thanks to her other “family” of caregivers at Peabody Manor in Appleton. Your tender, loving care and compassion will always be treasured by our grateful family.
