Lorraine Marsceau

Lorraine “Yoddy” Marsceau, age 93, passed away at Crestwood Adare Place in Menasha on Friday morning, May 25, 2012. Yoddy was born in Biron, Wisconsin, on February 8, 1919, daughter of the late Paul and Louise (Brod) Bauman. On October 10, 1935, she married Percy “Buck” Marsceau in Mosinee. He preceded her in 1983. Yoddy's greatest love in life was baking and seeing the joy on the faces of her family, friends, and neighbors when she shared her treats with those she loved. She will also be fondly remembered for her collection of roosters.

She is survived by three children: Bernice Anderson of Menasha; Francis Marsceau of Stockton, California; and Vernon Marsceau of Las Vegas. There are seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law: Mildred Bauman of Oshkosh. Yoddy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Percy, a son George, an infant daughter Mary, a son-in-law Kenneth Anderson; daughters-in-law Mary “Bobbie” Marsceau and Pat Marsceau, a sister Bernice “Toddy” (Lorenz “Tuffy”) Engebrecht; and brothers Cyrus Bauman and Clarence Bauman.

A memorial service will be held at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 3, 2012. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Inurnment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Appleton. There were so many wonderful people who cared for Yoddy over the years. The family would like to offer sincere gratitude to Rob Uffenbeck for the special person he is and the special things he has done, to Yoddy's “personal angels” Stacy and Marissa, to the entire staff at Crestwood Adare Place for making mom feel so much at home, and to the many caregivers from Heartland Hospice who made her final days more comfortable. We will never forget the kindness you have shown to our family.
