We are so grateful that we had the opportunity to celebrate the last Mother‚Ä(TM)s Day with our mother Lois M. Vanden Heuvel on May 8, 2005. Lois left her family to join her husband Richard, who preceded her in death on July 13, 2002. She was born January 17, 1925 in DePere, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Grover) Patterson. She married Richard Vanden Heuvel on February 5, 1944 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Lois was a loving and caring woman whose life was centered around her family and her faith. Lois and Richard were blessed to have spent 59 happy years together and truly enjoyed their time at Rose Lake with their family.
She is survived by her children: Joseph (Karen) Vanden Heuvel of Oshkosh, Susan (fiancé Steve Magolski) Vanden Heuvel of Kaukauna, David (Janis) Vanden Heuvel of Kaukauna, Rick (Jean) Vanden Heuvel of North Hudson and Jay (Tracy) Vanden Heuvel of Green Bay; eight grandchildren: Cary and Shane Vanden Heuvel, Chris and Lee Schmidt, Eric and Paul Vanden Heuvel and Jayna and Jeni Vanden Heuvel; nine great-grandchildren; sister: Rita Wandell of Weed, CA; sisters-in-law: Sis Patterson, Vi Toonen, Bernice (Howard) Baumgart and Dorothy (Ron) Lemke; brothers-in-law: Jim (Doris) Vanden Heuvel and George (Jan) Vanden Heuvel. I stand back in silence.
Observing and loving.
Caring more than I dare to show.
Loyalty and tenderness speaking for me.
Centered in my family.
Content in that connectedness.
I pass --- knowing my life shows in them.
Solid and present always.

Special thanks for the kindness shown to our family from Wendi at Appleton Medical Center and Jenell with ThedaCare Hospice.
