Leland "Lee" Miller

July 16, 1933 — May 1, 2014

Leland D. “Lee” Miller, 80, Appleton, passed away on May 1, 2014. Lee was born on July 16, 1933 to the late Louis and Hilda (Conrad) Miller in Baldwin's Mills, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Waupaca High School. After graduation, Lee served his country as a member of the US Navy. On May 30, 1954 he married the former Janice Zabel. He was employed with Appleton Papers (Appvion) from 1956 to 1992. Lee had a great sense of humor and was a loving husband and father who enjoyed time with his family. His hobbies included playing cards, gardening, growing flowers and hostas. He loved fishing and spending time at Pickrel and Post Lakes. He also enjoyed visiting the mall and regular walks to meet his friends for coffee.

He will be sadly missed by: his wife Janice; two daughters; Deb (Mike) Sieth of Oshkosh; Sandie (Dick) Miller-Schreiter of Appleton; two grandsons who brought him great joy; Matt Sieth of Atherton, California; Adam (Bryn) Sieth of Eau Claire; two sisters: Kay (Bill) Wingen; Janice (Kenney) Stafford; sisters-in-law Phyllis (Gary) Schroeder; Carol (Billy) Schoenick; brother-in-law Wilbur (Barb) Zabel and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers: Mayford and Arlin Miller; two brothers-in-law Kenny Zabel and Wayne Zabel.

Funeral Services for Lee will be Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church, 900 N. Mason Street, Appleton with Rev. Judy Deckert officiating. Visitation will be Monday at the church from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. The family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and staff of AMC, Cherry Meadows and The Heritage Hospice Residence.
