Age 92, died Thursday, August 15, 2002. She was born January 10, 1910 to the late James and Louise (Franck) Van Heuklon in Appleton. Leila married Clarence Suelflow on September 17, 1938. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1982. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aide. Leila was the owner and operator of Suelflow’s Travel Goods in Appleton from 1937-1963 and was the co-manager of Pah-low’s Luggage and Gift Shop from 1963-1984.

She is survived by two sons, Richard (Allie) Suelflow of Menasha and Dennis (Kathi) Suelflow of Boca Raton, Florida; six grandchildren, Ron Brueggeman of Menasha, Kenneth (Becky) Brueggeman of Oak Creek, Kennette Bueggeman of Onalaska, Dena Hunsicker and special friend, Mark Urness of Wauwatosa, Marsha Suelflow and special friend Mike Miklas of Dillon, CO. and Shaun Mayer of Union Grove. She will also be greatly missed by a sister, Verona Hamilton of Appleton, a brother in law Jack (Joyce) Suelflow of Oshkosh, a sister in law Dorothy Gerdener of Oshkosh, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth (Gerda Stumpf) Van Heuklon, two sisters, Vera (Leonard) Reimer and Dorothy (George) Hamilton, her special nephew James Brueggeman and two brothers in law Norman (Emma) Suelflow and Gerhard Gerdener.

The Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at ST. PAUL Ev. Lutheran Church, 302 North Morrison Street, Appleton with Rev. Ralph Waack officiating. Viewing and visitation will be Friday at the Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday at Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church or the Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
