Lawrence "Larry" Gaschler

June 14, 1947 — May 14, 2014

Lawrence Gaschler Sr. passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 after a brief illness. Larry was born in Appleton on June 14, 1947 to the late Anton and Shirley (Landskron) Gaschler. Larry graduated from Appleton West in 1965. Larry retired from Neenah Paper in 2012.

Larry truly loved his children and especially his grandchildren. He stopped by often with a bag of groceries and goodies to bring the grandchildren. Those visits will be missed.

He married his forever friend and mother of his children, Connie Farr, on May 13, 1967. One of his favorite past times was to get in the car and go for a drive to area casinos. Larry was an avid Badgers, Brewers and Packers fan. He loved getting his phone call to hear his grandchildren cheer “Go Pack Go!” on every game day.

Larry is survived by his son, Larry Jr. (Cindi) Gaschler, and their children Joshua and Zachary; his daughter, Tracie (Joe) Barnes and their children Casey, McKenzie, Austin and Aleeya, and his ex-wife, Connie Gaschler. Larry is also survived by his loving sisters Susan (Mike) Heenan and Patty (Tim) Hurley, his special nephew Nicholas, a brother Steve (Kathy) Gaschler and their families, and his good friend and hunting partner, Chop.

Larry's home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay. Friends and family could always count on a helping hand from Mr. G. whenever they needed it.
The family would like to thank the teams of doctors and nurses at St. Elizabeth Hospital and the University of Wisconsin Madison for their exceptional care.

Per Larry's wishes, a private family gathering will take place at a later date.

Please send condolences to Wichmann Funeral Home or email to www.wichmannfargo.com.

Dad, you were taken too early and we miss you already! May the bells of the slot machines in heaven ring for you often! Love, Larry and Tracie.
