Kathleen “Iola” Sheldon went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ May 3, 2006. She was surrounded by family at St. Elizabeth Hospital where she succumbed to a short battle with cancer.

Kathleen Iola Sanborn was born on September 16, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to Maurice (Sandy) and Esther Sanborn. She grew up in Chicago where she and her dear friend Betty (Boopie) had the time of their lives enjoying all Chicago had to offer. Iola loved to travel and had many wonderful adventures that she loved to share with family and friends. Iola moved to Appleton in 1950 where she met Louis Richard Sheldon, they were married in 1951. Iola loved being a wife and mother and participated in many activities that involved her children and church.

Iola was preceded in death by her parents Sandy and Esther Sanborn and her aunt Estrid Holm, whom she looked forward to seeing again. She is survived by her loving family, sister Gloria Sanborn, brother Russell Sanborn, children Noel Sheldon and his partner Ross Jamison, Dawn Menting and her husband Rick, Lanc Sheldon, Dyan Talabac and her husband Mark, Paig Alexander and her husband Jeff. Also 11 loving grandchildren, Megan, Danielle, Sierra, Aaron, Autumn, Ashley, Sawyer, Lauren, Seth, Mara & Simon.

A private family service will be held for Iola.

The family would like to extend our appreciation for the wonderful care given to our mother by the ICU and the entire 4th Floor staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Our mother finished all correspondence with a statement true to her heart. So let us say “ To Jesus Be True”.
