KNUTH, JUANITA M.

Juanita M. Knuth, of Appleton, age 95 years, died on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at Franciscan Care Center. She was born July 11, 1910 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie (Donahue) Hanson. As a child she moved to Appleton and graduated from Appleton High School in 1928. Juanita was a secretary at Western Condensing, later known as Foremost Dairy. She married Jack Benson who was killed in 1945 serving in WWII and later married George Knuth in 1957 and he preceded her in death in 1985. Juanita was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church and a member of the Women’s Guild.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Bonnie) Benson of Antioch, Tennessee; daughter, Jeanne Grose of Avon Park, Florida; two step-sons: Ronald (Norma) Knuth of Hortonville and David Knuth of Anchorage, Alaska; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Juanita is further survived by two brothers: Leslie Hanson of Jacksonville, Florida and Erwin Hanson of Weyauwega; sister-in-law, Evelyn Hanson of Appleton and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Benson and George Knuth, grandson John Miller, two brothers, Floyd and Wayne Hanson and a son-in-law, Willy Grose.

A memorial prayer for Juanita will be included at the 10:30 am Sunday, February 26, 2006 worship service at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 601 E. Glendale Ave., Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Faith Lutheran Women’s Guild appreciated.
