Joyce Dietzen

June 15, 1952 — January 10, 2015

Joyce H. Dietzen, age 62, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday, January 10, 2015. She was born on June 15, 1952, to the late Curtis and Janet Lietz, and she resided in Freedom. Joyce married Bill Dietzen on July 8, 1978, and they spent 36 years together. Joyce graduated from Marion University with a B.S. in Nursing and took great pride in her career. She worked in a variety of settings as a nurse and transitioned into a case manager. As a case manager in the insurance industry, she was honored in 1997 for being the Case Manager of The Year in Wisconsin. She later became the Corporate Compliance Officer for a local insurance company. Joyce had a great passion for helping others and had a way of drawing people to her. She had a great smile and loved welcoming people with it.

Joyce always had a strong faith and was a member at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. She loved reading and doing many things with crafts, especially cross stitching and knitting. Joyce was a fantastic cook and her family enjoyed all of her meals. She always had a strong and determined will during her illness and handled everything with grace, goodwill, and strength. Even when she wasn't feeling well, she never complained, and she showed compassion for others. Joyce loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and they will all miss her dearly .

She is survived by her husband, Bill Dietzen; children, Bill (Erika) Dietzen and Bonnie (Adam) Bain; siblings, Diane Lietz, Jeff (Mary) Lietz, Laura (Clyde) Tucker; and grandchildren, Aaron Bain and Shelby Dietzen.
