John “Pat” Morris

Age 82, beloved husband and loving father, passed away Monday June 3, 2002, at Franciscan Care Center, Appleton. John was born December 10, 1919, in Washburn, Wisconsin, the son of the late Charles and Alice (Gross) Morris. On June 26, 1945 he married Paulette J. (Dreschers) in Verviers, Belgium. After serving his country in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Second Lieutenant, John was employed for many years at Wikelund Wholesale of Appleton and later with Insulation and Supply Company of Appleton. He was a life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Appleton where he spent several years singing in the adult choir. John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Paulette; six sons, Michael Morris, San Diego, CA; Robert (Gail) Morris, Madison; John Morris, Appleton; William (Debbie) Morris, Kenosha; Charles (Cherie) Morris, Appleton; and Paul (Becky) Morris, Appleton; his nine grandchildren, Rebecca Morris, San Diego, CA; Nicole and Matthew Morris, Madison; Stephanie (Paul) Harris, Minneapolis; Ann and Jennifer Morris, Appleton; Lisa, Keayra and Ashlynn Morris, Appleton; and one great-granddaughter, Alexis, Appleton. He is also survived by two sisters, Margaret M. Morris, Minneapolis and Eleanor (Tom) Loomis, Tom’s River, New Jersey; and one brother, Dr. Charles (Jeanette) Morris, Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert, William and Thomas, and his sister Catherine. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2002, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 West Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Fr. John Holly, OFM, Cap. officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to benefit St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Franciscan Care Center for their loving care.
