John L Belling

John L. Belling, 76, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Appleton Medical Center.

John was born on December 29, 1935 in Appleton. He was a veteran having served in the US Army in Germany. On May 9, 1959 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Nancy Heaton and they celebrated 53 years together. He worked for over 30 years as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service until his retirement. John was a life member of the MacDowell Male Chorus and enjoyed it very much. He enjoyed fishing, taking meticulous care of his yard and was an avid Packer's and sports fan. John's true love was his wife, children and grandchildren and the time they spent together will always be cherished. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and a lifelong member of First English Lutheran Church.

John is survived by his wife, Nancy Belling, three children; Scott (Nicole) Belling, Mebane, North Carolina, Susan (John) Schemm, Appleton, and Julie (Kurt) Kemps, Appleton, five grandchildren; Laura, Steven and Lynn Schemm, Katie and Michael Kemps, all of Appleton, a sister Jean Burmeister, Appleton, and many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his mother Grace Belling, mother-in-law, Esther Heaton, sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Al) Golz and brother-in-law, Don Burmeister.

A memorial service for John will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 326 E. North St. Appleton, with Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
