Age 58, died with her family at her side on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. She was born in Cadott on July 27, 1951, the daughter of the late Dr. Bruno F. and Ina (Pulver) Rahn. On August 4, 1979 she married her husband, Bill Schwandt. Jane was a French and English teacher at Shiocton High School for 32 years, retiring in 2006. She loved reading, cooking, and golf. The things that were most important to her were being a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. These things gave her a passion for living.

Jane is survived by her husband of 30 years, Bill; children: Lea (Christopher Bellisle) Schwandt and Isaac (Amanda) Schwandt; grandchild: Jadyn Schwandt; brother: Bruno (Pat) Rahn; sisters: Kris (Jim) Dimock and Aimee (Don) Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service of celebration will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 325 E. Franklin St., Appleton, with Dr. Doyle Blanton and Rev. Krystal Bartlett officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Kevin Mortara, the oncology staff at Appleton Medical Center, and the Theda Care Hospice Team for their exceptional care.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
