Grace Ida Linden

Grace Linden, age 86, died May 4, 2002. Grace was born December 15, 1915, in Cedarburg, WI. She married Earl C. Linden on August 24, 1940, at Advent Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, WI. She lived in Cedarburg, Grafton, Appleton, Milwaukee, Delafield, and Menasha, WI, and Oxford, Arkansas. She is a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Appleton, WI.
Grace served as Delafield librarian and Town Clerk and was employed by Trinity Lutheran Church, Appleton, WI, South Side Redeemer Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, WI, and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Neenah, WI, and by Gibson Co., Menasha, WI, until her retirement in 1971.
Grace and her husband Earl volunteered through World Brotherhood Exchange (N.Y.) at Alaska Children Services in Anchorage, Alaska, where they lived with 10 troubled teen-agers for 6 months. They also volunteered for 6 months at Curran Lutheran Hospital in Zor Zor, Liberia, West Africa. They also volunteered in Prison Ministry in Wisconsin and Arkansas for many years.
Grace taught Sunday School for 42 years, mainly high school classes; she served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. She visited residents in a Milwaukee Nursing Home for one year, Appleton Extended Care (now Franciscan Care Center) for several years and Americana Health Care Center for several years, all weekly.
She is survived by her husband Earl, three children, Terry Linden, Ann Arbor, Michigan, Sue Londre, Appleton, and Kay (Earl) Miner, Lincoln, Nebraska, grandchildren and great-grand children.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 8 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church (900 N. Mason St.) with Pastor Todd Murken officiating. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 7 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and at Grace Lutheran Church on Wednesday, May 8 from 9:30 AM until the funeral service.
Burial in Zu Ruhe Cemetery, Bridge St., Cedarburg, WI.
