Gloria Jean Bendixen

Age 59, died Tuesday, August 28, 2001, as a result of an automobile accident on Highway 10. Gloria was born on August 10, 1942, in New London to Walter and Marie (Dobberstein) Westphal. She was employed in the Graphic Arts Department of Tee Off Enterprises, New London; she was previously employed at Zwicker Knitting Mills, Appleton. Gloria was well known for her smile and forever optimistic disposition. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was a friend to many. Gloria enjoyed gardening, crafting, camping, traveling, fishing, hunting, cribbage, visiting with her friends and family and was an avid Packer fan. Survivors include her parents; her daughter, Michele (Robert) Bree, Bear Creek; her son, Mark Bendixen (Jamie Ayres), Appleton; her grandchildren, Zachariah Bendixen, Adriana Bree and Brent, Drew and Nicholas Bendixen; her step-grandchildren, Alissa and April Ayres; her special friend, Edward Herzfeldt, Dale; and his son, Greg (Gege) Herzfeldt, Dale, and their children Greg and Jon; his daughters, Robin Miller, Oshkosh, and her children Crystal and Alex; Leann Eldred, Appleton and her children, Kimberly and Amanda; her brothers and sisters, Glen Westphal, Neenah; Susan Haase, Appleton; Beverly (Harris “Wink”) Winkler, Oshkosh; Stephen (Linda) Westphal, Fond du lac; Stanley Westphal, Appleton; Lynn (Bob) Cole, Appleton; Cindy (Tom) Gorges, Readfield; Roland Westphal, Medina; Tim Westphal, Medina; and Carol Colden, Appleton. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2001, at ZION UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, Highway 10, Dale, with Rev. Virgie Davis officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again directly at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established in her name.
