Gladys Shepherd

April 14, 1933 — July 30, 2009

Gladys Ann Shepherd, age 76, of Appleton passed away Thursday morning, July 30, 2009 at Appleton Health Care Center. Gladys was born on April 14, 1933 in Appleton, to the late Louis and Irene (Noffke) Derks.

She was a former owner of what used to be called Gladys Bar, in Menasha. Gladys enjoyed going to the casino with her “hooked at the hip” friend, Carol Hoag. Most of all she enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with her family and friends.

Gladys is survived by her 4 brothers; two sisters; 8 step-children; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Gladys is preceded in death by her brother, Jim Derks.

A Memorial Service for Gladys will be held 7:00 p.m. August 6, 2009 at WICHMANN TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 3212 S. Oneida Street, Appleton. Rev. Leon Knitt will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Gladys name.

Gladys family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers at Cherry Meadows and Appleton Health Care Center for all their wonderful care and support.
