Gerhardt "Gay" Scheibe

August 28, 1925 — March 10, 2015

Gerhardt W. “Gay” Scheibe age 89 of Black Creek entered eternal life with our dear Lord on March 10, 2015 at his home. He was born on August 28, 1925 to Arthur and Ida (Stapel) Scheibe in the Town of Freedom. He grew up on the family farm on French Road in Freedom. He attended St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. He also attended St. Peter Lutheran School. On August 30, 1947 he married the love of his life, Doris Schabo. On August 30, 2014 they celebrated 67 years of marriage. He was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in the Town of Center. He was employed with Schabo Materials for more than 30 years. He enjoyed going on trips to Texas, Branson Missouri and anywhere else his car may take him, especially out west. He enjoyed his woodworking shop and having fun with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gerhardt lived a life of love and honor. Faith and family were always what mattered most.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Doris; daughter Sherry Lynn (friend Jerry) Scheibe; daughter-in-law Elaine Scheibe; grandchildren: Adam (Kelly) Scheibe; Ryan (friend Destiny) Scheibe; Lucas (Erika) Scheibe; Rachael (friend John) Scheibe; great-grandchildren Hunter, Dylan, Calvin and Lily Scheibe as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son Russell Scheibe; Doris' parents George and Martha Schabo; brother Victor (Erma) Scheibe; sister-in-law Dorothy Schabo ; brother-in-law Eugene Gerrits; two nieces.

Friends may call at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, N3505 State Rd 47, Appleton on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Funeral Services will be at church at 11:00 am with the Rev. Jeffrey Suhr and the Rev. Micah Martin officiating. For more information and to express condolences, please visit www.wichmannfargo.com.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at ThedaCare at Home Hospice. A special thank you to Dr. David Ebben and his staff and nurses for the care given to Gerhardt. A very special thank you to Rev. Jeffrey Suhr and Rev. Micah Martin for all the wonderful visits to our home.
