“Our little messenger from God” passed away in the arms of her earthly father and mother into the arms of her heavenly Father on July 8, 2004. She was born on June 14, 2004 in Milwaukee. Gabby was greeted in heaven by her big brother Chuckie and all of her heavenly family.

Gabby taught us the strength of unconditional love and the dignity and worth of all life. She is survived by her parents: Charles and Lisa DesJarlais of Appleton; her brothers: Alexander and Bryce; maternal grandparents: David and Tina Maccaux of Oconto; her paternal grandparents: Isabelle DesJarlais of Green Bay and the late Norbert DesJarlais; maternal great-grandmother: Wilma Bellow of Lena and the late Curtis Bellow; and special great-grandmother Ann Dansereau and the late Harold Dansereau; she is further survived by many aunts, uncles and other relatives. Gabby was preceded in death by her big brother Chuckie, uncle Norb, great grandfather, Frank Maccaux and great grandparents, Bill and Evelyn Behnke. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church (1617 W. Pine St.) Appleton with Father John Bergstadt officiating. Friends may be received from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at church. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.

The family of Gabrielle would like to thank the Children’s Hospital of Milwaukee and Fox Valley for their loving care and support and also St. Bernard’s Parish for their prayers and support this past month.

She left us with precious memories and a peace that passes all understanding that death is not an end but life is full of hope. Her life was short but it didn’t end in death. She taught us so much about life and death. Our little girl touched us in ways we are just seeing now. Thank you Gabby!
