GERTRUDE ROBERTS

Age 88, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 1, 2002, in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Gertrude was born on September 25, 1913, in Underhill, Wisconsin, to the late Fred and Hulda (Radloff) Vorpahl. She married Milton A. Roberts on May 1, 1937, in Highland Park, Illinois; he preceded her in death on June 18, 1994. Gertrude was employed as a seamstress for 28 years at H. C. Prange Company, making draperies. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her daughter, Gloria G. (Jack) Gross, Bedford, Virginia; her son, Bruce (Diana) Roberts, Waukesha; her grandchildren, Scott Roberts, Bonnie (Brian) Johnson, David (Lisa) Gross; her great grandchildren Josiah, Naomi and Caleb Roberts and Megan and Matthew Gross; her sisters-in-law, Elberta Vorphal, Appleton, Murna Wolfgram, Appleton and Francis Vorpahl, Medford. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Herman, Leonard, Arthur, Clarence, Reuben, Oliver and John; her sisters, Bertha, Emma, Margaret and Ida. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2002, at RIVERVIEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 136 West Seymour Street, Appleton, with Rev. Dennis W. Belter officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established in her name to benefit Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church School.
