Eunice Mae (Van Den Eng) Van Daalwyk

Eunice Mae Van Daalwyk, age 86, a resident of Kimberly died peacefully on September 29, 2015 with her family by her side. Eunice was born on October 3, 1928 in Freedom to Peter J. and Elizabeth (Brooks) Van Den Eng. She married Robert W. Van Daalwyk at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom on October 9, 1948. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage.

Eunice graduated from Freedom High School in 1947. A year before she graduated she was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital where she worked as a nurses aid before returning to high school and now at almost 87, she passed peacefully at St. Elizabeth. She told her children many stories of her time at St. E's. She had a very full life with her large family and many friends. Her home was always open to visitors. Eunice loved people and they loved her. Euny was known for her faith and sense of humor. Her children can attest to what a loving mother, devoted wife and great cook she was. Always on the go with her various activities whether it be playing Sheepshead, Bunco, or taking care of a friend – she lived every day to the fullest.

Eunice lived in Kimberly for 37 years with her husband, Bob. Together they built their retirement home on Lake Noquebay and moved there in 1985 and wintered in Arizona. Her children remember all the good times at the cottage. They were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Crivitz. Bob passed away on March 26, 2007. Eunice then moved back to Kimberly and belonged to Holy Spirit Parish.

Survivors are her daughters: Diane (Jim) Carpenter of Crivitz, Lori (Al) Verkuylen of Greenville, Lisa (Joe DeBruin) Sutta of Little Chute; sons: Dennis R. (Jane) Van Daalwyk of Menasha and Hollywood Beach, California, William P. (Cheri) Van Daalwyk of New Berlin, Robert J. (Hua Zhao) Van Daalwyk of Madison, Lee Van Daalwyk of Lake Havasua City, Arizona; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her siblings: Joy (Roy) Van Dyke, Marvin Van Den Eng, Floyd (Joan) Van Den Eng, Clarence (Millie) Van Den Eng, Ronald (Jenny Rice) Van Den Eng; sister-in-law, Kenice Van Den Eng; brother-in-law, Clarence Gerrits. Robert's brothers-in-law, Don Dorn, Larry (Billie Jean) Dorn, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded by her parents, her husband, Bob; sisters, Gladys (Lewis) Fravel, Evelyn Gerrits; brother, Eugene Van Den Eng; four sisters-in-law, Roberta Van Den Eng, Elaine Van Den Eng, Laverne Dorn and Dolores Dorn; grandson, Christopher Carpenter; brothers-in-law, Lewis Fravel, Herb Dombrowski; and nephew, Steven Dorn.

The funeral liturgy for Eunice will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at HOLY SPIRIT/HOLY NAME CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly. Fr. Bob Kollath will be officiating. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 am until 10:45 am. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
