EARLIN A. ASHMAN
Of Appleton

Age 87, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2001 at Franciscan Care Center. He was born on October 1, 1914 to the late William and Emma Ashman (Schultz). He later married Dorothy Meiers on December 18, 1937. Earlin farmed in the Town of Center his entire life. He was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, and on the Town board and School board. Earlin was a custom butcher who provided service for many people throughout the area. He was also a charter member of the Conservation Club and raised over 2,000 pheasants.

Earlin is survived by his wife, Dorothy of 64 years, four children: Myra (Gerald) Haber of Neenah, Merlin (Evelyn) Ashman of Black Creek, Geraldine Smith of Nichols, WI, and Jim (Barbara) Ashman of Appleton. He is also survived by 16 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Earlin is further survived by a sister: Romelda Wirth of Appleton, a brother: Eldo (Marion) Ashman of Appleton. A sister-in-law, Charlotte (Stanley) Mollett, brother-in-law, Carl (Elfrieda) Meiers, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by a brother Raymond, two sons-in law: Don Harrington and William Smith, and also a brother-in-law Edward Wirth.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am, at Zion Lutheran Church(912 N. Oneida St., Appleton) on Thursday, December 27, 2001 with Pastor Nathan Gauerke officiating.
Visitation will begin at 9 am until the time of service also at church, on Thursday. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established.
