Age 80, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2002 at her home. She was born on April 10, 1921 in Appleton the daughter of the late Julius P. and Beatrice (Ullman) Frank. She taught at Highlands Elementary School for 18 years, and was involved in many volunteer activities including the presidency of the Appleton Medical Center Auxiliary, and as a teacher for the Fox Valley Literacy Coalition in recent years.

She is survived by her husband Stephen of Appleton, her children Lawrence (Gloria) Freschl of Milwaukee, Virginia (Ray) Levi of Minneapolis, and Elizabeth (David) Koos of Grand Junction, Colorado; her grandchildren Debra, Marc, and Daniel Freschl; and Mara and Dina Levi. Dorothy is also survived by a brother John (Lorraine) Frank of Scottsdale, Arizona. She was preceded in death by a sister Jane Kaplan, and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at 2:00 PM at the Wichmann Funeral Home with Gary Wolfman officiating. Interment will take place at Zion Cemetery in Appleton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established for the Dorothy Freschl Fund of the Community Foundation of the Fox Valley Region.
