Clifford Weyers

Clifford Weyers, age 82, passed away peacefully at St. Paul Home on Thursday, March 10, 2011. Clifford was born in Kaukauna on October 14, 1928, son of the late Lawrence and Adell (Gilbert) Weyers. He attended schools in Kaukauna, and on June 1, 1950 married the former Mary Lou DeBruin. Mary Lou preceded him in death in December of 1989. Later, on July 3, 1995, Cliff married LaVerne Schumann; she preceded him in death in June of 2004.

Cliff will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend. He lived life to its fullest and enjoyed many activities throughout his life such as bowling, fishing, deer hunting, golf, square dancing, playing cribbage and sheepshead, reading, working with the Boy Scouts, visiting Las Vegas, and traveling to warmer climates when the weather turned cold. He was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna, and along with his brothers, operated Weyers Equipment for many years.

Clifford is survived by eight children: Barb (James Meriwether) Weyers of Muscoda; Ken (Wendy) Weyers of Normal, Illinois; Keith (Deborah) Weyers of Kimberly; Betty (David) Skweres of Houston, Texas; Ann (Mike) Eifler of Aurora, Illinois; Jan (Randy) Wussow of Black Creek; Karl (Beverly) Weyers of Stevens Point; and Karen Nangle and her friend Tom Johnson of Lone Rock. There are also sixteen grandchildren: Kyle (Christina) Weyers, Korey (Josy) Weyers, Tiffany Weyers, Jennifer (Paul) Lockhart, Luke (Elaina) Weyers, Adam Eifler, Caitlin Eifler, Stacey (Joe) Sinkula, Sarah Wussow, Laura (Matt) Reynolds, Dan Weyers, Jill Weyers, Amy Weyers, Sarah (Tom) Bucek, Brian (Angie) Nangle, and Paul Nangle. There are also eleven great-grandchildren: Ben, Lucia, Owen, Schanda, Amber, Natalie, Ali, Isaac, Morgan, Cole, and Oliver. Clifford also leaves behind a brother: Bob (Alice) Weyers of Wrightstown; a sister: Darlene Zinnen of Naples, Florida; three sisters-in-law: Betty (Rich) Van Wychen, Phyllis Weyers and Grace DeBruin, all of Kaukauna; and a brother-in-law: Ralph Meulemans of Kaukauna, and Roy Abitz. LaVerne Schumann's children, Dawn, Brian, and Dena, and their families also are surviving. Cliff's special friend, Carol Ashauer also survives.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Lou in December of 1989, his wife LaVerne in June of 2004 a brother Clayton Weyers, brother-in-law Robert Zinnen, and by Mary Lou's family: Carl DeBruin, Cal (Joan) DeBruin, Fritz (Gloria) DeBruin, Al (Martha) DeBruin, Ray (Honey) DeBruin, Mildred (Jerry) Smith, Ruth (Nick) Guerts, Mae DeBruin, and Mary Lou's twin sister, Mary Alice Meulemans.

The funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 18, 2011 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the hour of the service.
