Clarence ''Cal'' Perry

Age 84, left to join his wife, ''Muzzy'' on December 3, 2001, in Melbourne Beach,
Florida. Cal was born on July 21, 1917, in Appleton, Wisconsin, one of two children. He was a veteran of World War II, serving heroically in The South Pacific for five years. Upon returning to his hometown after the war, Cal married the former Madge De Leeuw on July 19, 1947 in Appleton. She preceded him in death on January 28, 1997. Cal entered the residential construction profession where he co- founded Perry-DeNoble Homes, and was known for building solid, quality homes. With an opportunity to follow a profession of his true interest, the fine clothing industry, Cal left the construction industry to open his first clothing store, Perry-Ernst Menswear, in downtown Appleton. His children were blessed to work with him at Perry-Ernst Menswear, where he instilled in them his high integrity of all aspects of the retail industry. Continuing in his successful clothing business, he went on to open several other fine clothing stores throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota, named Dartmouth Direct. While continuing in his successful clothing store ventures, Cal was blessed with the opportunity to work with his youngest son, Chris. Together they founded Perry-Everts Builders, in Melbourne, Florida, where Cal passed on his talents in building to his youngest son. With Cal retiring over fifteen years ago, he continued to keep a summer home in Wisconsin, where he enjoyed fishing and his daily walking regimen. Among the many things he enjoyed, his fondest memories were great weekends at the family cottage, retelling tales of World War II to his family, as well as attending his company's annual army reunions, watching his ''heroes'' the Green Bay Packers, guiding his son Dick in his restaurant business, steering his family in the right

direction regarding business ventures, and decorating the family 15 foot tall Christmas tree. To his family he was the hero. Cal and Madge were members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Melbourne Beach, Florida, as well as St. Joseph's Church in Appleton Wisconsin.

Cal is survived by his six children: Dick Perry and his special friend Bonnie Brousseau of Vero Beach, Florida; Jo (Richard) Gear of Appleton; MaryKay Perry Everts of Palm Bay, Florida; Jan (Terry Garbe) Perry of Appleton; Chris (Angie) Perry of Melbourne Beach, Florida; and Lisa (John) Pappas of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren: Jordin and Chris Everts; Alexa and Taylor Pappas; and Sean Paul Perry and Lauren Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of forty-nine years Madge, and by a sister Leta DiSalvo.

The funeral liturgy for Cal will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 6, 2001 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna, Wisconsin with Fr. Robert Udulutsch, OFM Cap officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery where military funeral honors will be presented by the members of the Electric City Post #3319 of the VFW. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 – 7 PM and again Thursday directly at the church from 9:30 AM until the hour of the services.

The Perry family will be forever thankful to our dear friend, Ray Schreiber, for taking such great care of ''the boss''.
