She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christina Winch and her husband Timothy, Appleton; a son and daughter-in-law, Pastor Ronald Vignec and his wife Nancy, Tacoma, Washington; five grandchildren, Tanya, Sam, Phillip Lauren, Nicole and Adam. Also her great grandsons, Caleb and Elijah, who brought her many moments of great joy. Other survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Terri Chaika, San Francisco, California; and two wonderful nieces, Margaret Mary and Doreen. Funeral service for Christina will be held at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, corner of North and Drew Street, at 11:00 am, on Monday, April 18, 2005, with Reverend Paul Svingen officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, April 17, 2005, from 4 to 8 pm and on Monday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Christina will also have an Eastern Orthodox service said in Brooklyn, New York. A memorial fund is being established for Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

Christina worked hard all of her life and brought safety and encouragement to her family. She trusted in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life and have in all fullness”. Her spirit of trusting in God will continue to bloom in all the lives she touched. She is honored and loved.
