Carol Crump

Carol, age 61 found peace from suffering when she succumbed to a rare brain disease on Thursday, July 5, after a long struggle with this orphan disease. She is the last survivor of the A. C. Black family which played a big part in the development of Kaukauna.

She was born on April 26, 1940 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital, the daughter of Mr. Myron Parks Black and Isabel Brenner Black of 725 Grignon Street, Kaukauna where she grew up, attending Park School early and later at Kaukauna High School where she graduated in 1958. She continued her education at Carroll College in Waukesha where she graduated in 1962.

She taught Speech and English at Whitnall High School in Greenfield, Wisconsin for 31 years, retiring in 1995. She married Charles Crump in December of 1981. She had no children.

She is survived by her husband, Charles and by her mother, Isabel who is currently residing at the Parkside Care Center in Little Chute. Also surviving are several cousins: William and Ben Laird of Green Bay; Bonnie Laird of Bloomington, Minnesota; Laurie Lamberg of Manitowoc; Linda Black Noey of Haleiva, Hawaii and Sue Carpenter Finck of Washington, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her father, Myron and by a cousin, Parks Carpenter of Carlyle, Illinois.

Services will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, July 9, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 510 Sullivan Avenue, Kaukauna with Pastor Ken Watt officiating. Family and friends may call directly at the church from 10:00 a.m. on Monday until the time of service. Interment will be held in Kelso Cemetery.
