Beth Spina

October 27, 1930 — December 23, 2008

SPINA, BETH (Mrs. Daniel)

On Tuesday, December 23, 2008 Beth Spina left this life and began her eternal life with the Lord Jesus Christ. She died suddenly while visiting her daughter for the holidays in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We will dearly miss her warmth, compassion, humor and tenacious manner in which she clearly communicated the beliefs she held close to her heart.

Beth was a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God. She lived a life of service along side her husband, Rev. Daniel Spina for 53 years. Their ministry together began in Howard Beach, NY. They pioneered this church with a children's story hour run by Beth. Daniel, in time, held bible studies for their parents. Subsequently, they pastored in Warsaw, NY for two years and then in Ripon, Wisconsin where they followed their calling for another six years. Moving to Marinette, Wisconsin in May of 1962 and then to Appleton on January 1, 1968, they retired from full time ministry in January of 1993.

Throughout her years in Wisconsin, Beth's ministry expanded to leadership within the Women's Ministries Department of the Wisconsin Northern Michigan District. Her role initially was that of sectional representative, but she later held the offices of Secretary and eventually President. She served faithfully in these capacities for over 25 years.

Beth was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin on October 27th, 1930. She was the 6th child of Foster and Iva (Webster) Harrison. She was preceded in death by her brothers Kenton, Spencer, and Hubert Harrison; husband, Rev. Daniel Spina; son, David Spina and great grandson Mason Daniel Spina. She is survived by her sons: Stephen John Spina and Daniel Benjamin Spina Jr. (Diane); daughters: Brenda Lee Spina and Melody Joy Spina. She has six grandchildren: Jordan Harrison Spina, Aaron Bruch Spina, Daniel Benjamin Spina III (Becki), Dustin Ray Spina (Elizabeth), Devonda Lynn Millard (Paul), and Christian Elizabeth Spina. Four great-grandchildren also survive her: Cailey Suzanne Spina, Reaghan Lynn Millard, Kennedy Jo Millard and Harrison Paul Millard. Her surviving sister-in-law and brothers are: Eileen (Hubert) Harrison, Farres (Linda) Harrison and Delmar (Esther) Harrison.
