Barb Sharpe

December 12, 1956 — September 23, 2015

Barbara Jean Sharpe, age 58, of the town of Harrison, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Wednesday morning after a courageous 2 ½ year battle with breast cancer. Barb was born in El Paso, Texas on December 12, 1956, daughter of the late Melville and Thelma (Steidl) Junion. She graduated from St. Mary High School in 1975, then went on to work at Banta Credit Union for over 10 years. Barb then decided to become a beautician. After working at various salons throughout the Fox Valley, she opened her own salon “The Sharpe Look”. On May 6, 1989, she married Bill Sharpe.

Barb had a talent for many things including quilting and sewing, volunteering at the Performing Arts Center in Appleton, and she enjoyed going out to eat with her friends from High School. Barb and Bill square danced, camped at Fountain Lake and golfed together.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 26 years: Bill Sharpe of the town of Harrison; her siblings: Geralynn (John) Kasper of Appleton, and Francis (Karen) Junion of Bettendorf, Iowa; her nieces and nephews: Kyle Junion, Cameron Junion, Samantha (Mark) Glander, Melissa Kasper; her grandnephew: Dean Glander; her uncle: John Stiedl: her aunt: Genevieve Koerner; and her sisters-in-law: Faithe (Daniel) Sharpe Daoust, Randee (Peter) Sharpe Schmanski Kessler and Stephanie Sharpe. She is further survived by other relatives and many good friends. She is preceded in death by her parents: Melville and Thelma Junion and her sister-in-law Terri Sharpe.

The memorial service for Barb will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at CALVARY CHAPEL, 2136 East Newberry Street, with Pastor Dwight Douville officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.

Barb's family would like to thank Theda Care Hospice and the Cancer Treatment Center of America for their excellent care and Barb's graduating class for the flower arrangements sent throughout her treatment. Also a special thank you to her brother and sister-in-law, Fran and Karen, for all they have done for Barb.
