Freedom

Alrita Wisneski, age 80, passed away on Saturday June 10, 2006 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. Alrita was born in Wrightstown on August 9, 1925, daughter of the late Arnold and Annie (Gerrits) Van Dyke. On October 17, 1946, she married John Wisneski at St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown; he survives. The couple would have celebrated sixty wonderful years together this October. Alrita was a stay-at-home mom who enjoyed her role as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards with friends, traveling to many far away places, working crossword puzzles, reading, and working in her flower garden. Her faith was very important to her, as well as the many special family gatherings with those she loved – she always felt so very blessed to have such a loving family. In addition to her parents, all seven of her brothers and sisters, as well as Alrita and John, were blessed to have all celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversaries.

For years, she and her husband owned and operated the Nursery Tree Farm near Freedom, and enjoyed helping their customers beautify their homes and yards. Alrita was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom for fifty years, as well as being a member of the Christian Mother’s Society, and the church choir. She was also a member of Freedom Post #7692 of the V.F. W. Auxiliary.
