Alfred Niemeier

November 26, 1935 — October 23, 2013

Alfred O. Niemeier, age 77, went home to his Lord, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. He was born on November 26, 1935, in Whitewater, Wisconsin to the late Otto and Theresa Niemeier and resided in Appleton. On February 9, 1985, Al married the love of his life, Joyce Schnelle, and they spent 18 wonderful years together before she passed away in 2004. Al and Joyce always had a strong faith, and they were longtime members at Christ The Rock Community Church. He was always one of a kind, and everyone that met him, grew to love him. Al always enjoyed staying busy, especially when he was able to plow snow for the city of Oconomowoc. He really loved watching the Packers, gardening, and eating desserts, especially ice cream. What mattered to Al the most though was his family. He loved his wife dearly and always loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He gave everything that he had to his grandchildren and loved them very much.

Al is survived by his children, Debbie Meshke, Pamela (Rick) Schinigoi, Sheryl (Andy) Schabel, and Kevin (Amy) Meshke; grandchildren, Jason, Thea (Kevin), Jaime, Jenny (Dustin), Christina, Nathan, Justine, Erica, Josh, Jake, Chambria, Elizabeth, and Katrina; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Alexis, Max, Ben, Caleb, Zac, and Charlie; siblings, Verne (Carol) Niemeier, Robert (Jan) Niemeier, Delores (Ken) Goodrich, James (Ann) Niemeier, and Rosemary (Chuck) Morrell; and sister-in-law, Sandra Niemeier.

Al was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Niemeier; siblings, John Niemeier, Richard Niemeier, and Betty Niemeier; and great-grandson, Cameron.

Funeral services for Al will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the WICHMANN TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 1592 Oneida Street, Menasha, with Rev. David Vande Hey officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Al will be laid to rest at Ostrander Cemetery in the Town of Mukwa. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Al's loving memory are appreciated to Prairie Home Assisted Living.
