Alena Mae Frassetto

June 13, 1983 — August 26, 2007

Alena M. Frassetto, age 24, passed away August 26, 2007, with her parents and sister at her side. Alena was born in Appleton on June 13, 1983, the daughter of Gino and Nancy (Peerenboom) Frassetto of Sherwood.

Alena was a 2002 graduate of Xavier High School, where she excelled in academics and music. In 2006 she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Marquette University. During 2006, Alena was employed by Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee. In January 2007, she began a job she loved in the ER department at Meriter Hospital in Madison.

Alena enjoyed traveling, reading, movies, music, games and especially spending time with family and friends. Her short life left an imprint on the hearts of many and a piece of her will always be with us. Her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes would light up a room. Alena was overwhelmed by the amount of love from those that followed her struggle with leukemia over the past five months. Until the end, she fought this battle with unbelievable strength, courage and dignity and was an inspiration to us all. She will be greatly missed by her loving family, relatives and multitude of friends.

She is survived by her parents Gino and Nancy Frassetto, Sherwood; her adored sister and best friend, Jana, Sherwood; her maternal grandmother Mary Lou Peerenboom, Little Chute; her paternal grandmother: Joan Frassetto, Kimberly; as well as aunts and uncles: Robbie (Gary) Meyer, Little Chute, Dan (Lynn) Peerenboom, Tomahawk, Donna (Don) Phelan, Little Chute, Bill (Jackie) Peerenboom, Little Chute, Vickie (Gary) Gossens, Kimberly, Mary Fran (Tom) Erickson, Kimberly, Tina (Ed) Keller, Appleton, Joe (Patricia) Frassetto, Appleton, Lisa (Mike) Stumpf, Neenah, Frank (Lori) Frassetto, Oshkosh, and Paula (Jim) Vander Loop, Appleton. She is further survived by many cousins and cherished friends. Thank you to the family and friends that always found the time to visit, email, or send cards. You brightened her days and she loved you dearly.

Alena was preceded in death by both of her grandfathers, Robert Peerenboom and Francis Frassetto, and in March of this year, her cousin Lucas Peerenboom.

A special thank you to the nursing staff at UW Health who took special care of her during her long stays there. Thank you Gale, Melissa, Cassie, Cissy, Faith and especially Molly who became a dear friend. Also, thank you to her ThedaCare Hospice caregivers, Kathy, Amy, and Gail. You took such tender care of her these past five weeks. Amy, she so cherished your times together.

Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, and your memories of the times we loved, the times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed. For if you always think of me, I will always be with you.

In my dreams, I'll always see you soar above the sky. In my heart, there will always be a place for you, for all of my life. Love, Jana

Alena, we love you to infinity plus one. You will be our princess forever. Love, Mom & Dad
